    Pallet Racks in Waco, TX

Selective pallet rack gives a forklift direct access to each pallet without shifting another load. For general distribution in Texas Central Park, the South I-35 corridor through Hewitt and Robinson, and Woodway's Highway 6 buildings, that access matters when many stock numbers share the same receiving dock. We plan new racks around pallet dimensions, loaded weight and the truck that will place them.

Start with the load, not the beam length

A nominal pallet footprint is only the starting measurement. Overhanging cartons, stretched wrap and uneven loads change the space a position needs. Give us the widest loaded pallet, its height and its heaviest operating weight. Beam capacity applies to the specified beam pair and loading arrangement; frame capacity also depends on beam elevations and the load carried above each level.

In Waco's mix of manufacturing plants and distribution buildings, clear height can run roughly 18–28 feet, while newer tilt-wall space may offer 32–36 feet. A taller building does not automatically justify a taller rack. Forklift reach and remaining lifting capacity at elevation must support the proposed upper positions.

Aisles that account for the actual turn

We work from the forklift model, turning envelope and pallet length. The layout shows rack rows, cross aisles, receiving space and shipping staging together. Column spacing, grade doors and dock approaches can break a long row into shorter runs; position counts should reflect those interruptions rather than treating the warehouse as an empty rectangle.

Texas Central Park's Union Pacific connection and Waco's I-35, US-84 and Highway 6 routes support several inventory patterns. Rail arrivals, daily replenishment and mixed outbound orders need different staging arrangements. Tell us which loads wait near receiving and which go straight into storage.

Pallet Racks configuration and load positions

Warehouse racking installation around operating hours

Long Central Texas summers make crew staging and the handoff of work areas important in non-air-conditioned warehouses. We agree on working zones, steel unloading space and forklift separation before installation starts. Frames are anchored to the floor, beams and supports follow the selected arrangement, and capacity information corresponds to that arrangement.

The proposal identifies frame height and depth, beam lengths and capacities, levels, pallet supports and row accessories. A drawing and position schedule let your receiving supervisor check the layout against real pallet movements before the configuration is released.

    Warehouse planning questions

Can a Woodway building with low-clear bays still use pallet rack?

Yes, when the loaded pallet height, beam depth and forklift lift leave room for the proposed levels. We map each bay's usable height rather than extending a tall configuration into a lower section.

When does selective rack suit a Texas Central Park distributor?

It suits many stock numbers with relatively few pallets per item and frequent access to individual loads. Where a small number of products account for most inventory, deeper storage may deserve a separate zone.

What should a Hewitt operator send for a rack quote?

Send building measurements, clear height, loaded pallet sizes and weights, desired pallet count and the forklift model. Mark doors and columns on a sketch so the proposed aisle arrangement can be checked.
